Southern Grace Interiors is thrilled to announce that our work has been featured in Architectural Digest magazine. We place a heavy emphasis on coastal comfort—a perspective we translate differently according to each client’s individual needs. Enjoy this inside look at our freshly-featured Palmetto Bluff design, which showcases an elevated Lowcountry aesthetic in a beautiful build by Brightwater Homes.
While the layout of this home was settled when the builder, Brightwater Homes, first approached us, no finishes or materials had been selected yet. Our goal was to create a natural balance between rustic and contemporary accents as we chose the home’s custom trim and tile work, flooring, paint colors, brick accents, and lighting. This gave Southern Grace Interiors the ability to intentionally intertwine every detail of the design. The result? Cohesive interior spaces that exude approachable southern luxury.
We used a variety of neutral tones and organic materials to create a distinguished coastal aesthetic for this home. While a timeless, earthy palette binds the space together, natural accents including rough-hewn beams, Savannah gray brick, and charcoal cabinetry add plenty of texture and excitement to the classic color scheme.
A variety of intentional design details were utilized to establish distinct living spaces throughout the open concept of this Lowcountry home. Take, for example, the charcoal-toned staircase. A true focal point, the staircase draws attention upward and highlights the soaring ceilings while a dark console at the base of the stairs adds drama and depth to the design.
To separate the living area from the entryway, we utilized a low-backed sectional and two leather armchairs that play up the brick fireplace beautifully. Savannah brick was also used to accent the dining room’s step-back niche and as a backsplash for the kitchen bar. Strategically placed details like this create a natural progression from one area to the next and invite visitors to make themselves at home.
