Getting the opportunity to undertake a design assignment on a new custom home is one of our favorite things to do! Built by Lowcountry Custom Homes, this beautiful house located in Bluffton’s Berkeley Hall is a prime example. The owners contacted us soon after construction was completed. They had already purchased some basic furniture pieces, but overall the home still felt like a new build and wasn’t quite living up to its potential. After we had a consultation with them and heard their vision for their home, we were ready to get to work!
We started with some minor paint changes in a few key areas that helped define space and create depth. It’s our experience that small changes can definitely yield big results! Afterward, we began weaving in layers and accessories that helped make the home cohesive, warm and inviting.
Speaking of paint, we incorporated a new color in the master bedroom as a last-minute design decision and it became our favorite detail of this transformation! It’s interesting how the tweaking of a design project can come at any time and in this case, our work was nearing completion when this inspiration hit. Thankfully, our clients trusted our judgement and the new focal wall now brings rich depth and drama to the master suite.
At the completion of the project, our clients flew in from Boston to see their new home and could not have been more appreciative of the results! He said, “Thank you so much. When we started we had a house, and now you’ve given us a home.” We so value feedback and he could not have given us a better compliment. Giving our clients the home of their dreams is the reason we do what we do!
