The Landings

behind the design

Our design team gave this builder-grade home the impact it needed to express our clients' style. We touched almost every space in the home. Lead Interior Designer Brittani Swearingen, supported by Junior Designer Carly Shelton, transformed this home from basic to customized.

First, on the exterior, we added a custom porch swing to the front of the home to give it curbside appeal and true southern charm. Then, starting in the entryway, we played with proportions and added 3 light fixtures to create a more dynamic front hall. In the front room, we created a dual space by adding a custom murphy bed which allowed the space to also function as their office. We spruced up a once dull powder room by adding floor-to-ceiling curtains along with wall décor and bath accessories. In the kitchen, we added statement lighting and counter stools. In the dining, we added draperies, furniture, and a unique light fixture that is cantilevered so the height can be adjusted.

We love how the sunroom offers a chance to sit and have a chat, read a book, or enjoy your morning coffee. The family room is really the main attraction and has a lot of interesting furniture pieces while still being practical and comfortable. In the primary bedroom, we worked with their existing furniture set by adding a rug, lamps, bedding, draperies, a great-looking arch-top mirror, and a chair. Last but not least we got to have some fun in their kids bedrooms and make them interesting and youthful. We love the modern wallpaper paired with a bohemian-style rug, chair, and pillow. So inviting!
