Montage Palmetto Bluff’s extensive village of rental homes can be accessed by a charming walkway shaded by mossy oaks. This dreamy setting invites visitors and locals alike to enjoy a perfect Lowcountry getaway! Montage manages more than 30 luxury accommodation residences, and we are proud to say that Southern Grace Interiors will work closely with the Montage team to create and implement a new design for each and every property.
These Carolina-style homes are the perfect canvas for our Bluffton-based interior design firm to create interiors that reflect our coastal surroundings. Curious about what kind of atmosphere you might enjoy after walking through the front door of a Montage rental? Here’s a little hint about what’s to come! When choosing design elements, we will pull heavily from Lowcountry life—from boating, to oyster roasting, to horseback riding—as well as marshland flora and fauna. Overall, we want the interior of these homes to reflect the rich experience of life at Palmetto Bluff.

The best news? We’re starting with great bones. These rental homes feature beautiful wood flooring, sunshine-filled porches, and modern, open floor plans. Unique elements including ceiling beams, carriage houses, and vintage-style soaking tubs are also present. We plan to elevate, rather than erase, these features by drawing on Palmetto Bluff’s history and designing interior spaces that tell a story. In anticipation of this undertaking and to give you a clear picture of what we have planned for these homes, here are several projects in Palmetto Bluff that we’ve previously completed.
In a previous collaboration with the Montage, we took a luxury rental home from dark and traditional to bright and coastal. Using high-quality area rugs as our foundation, we created a relaxing color scheme and incorporated accents including dark woods, tropical palm fronds, coastal art prints, and a hint of animal print. The result is an interior that is reminiscent of the British West Indies while still maintaining a strong link to the Lowcountry.

This adorable home in Moreland Village was newly built and empty when we first arrived on the scene—and we were tasked with creating a cozy and inviting interior! We opted to paint key elements blue-gray throughout the home and incorporated natural textures through the placement of baskets and woven furniture. We also used our signature ginger jar pottery pieces in the living space, which matched the client’s blue and white wallpaper perfectly! The result is a coastal getaway that is both relaxing and inspiring.

We transformed this dark and dated home into a bright and modern vacation rental! We started by repainting the entire house, which brightened the space and gave us a solid foundation to build our design upon. Using the clients’ modern art piece as the centerpiece of our design, we pulled bright corals and calming blue hues into the living space. There are so many things to love about this home, but the kitchen is among our all-time favorite designs!

This sweet cottage had beautiful bones—but the space was desperately in need of some energy and life! Combining calming neutrals with pops of color gave this home a welcoming coastal atmosphere. To anchor the design, we opted for black fixtures to contrast against the bright white walls. This cottage is now a charming getaway perfect for introducing guests to Lowcountry living!

With this beautiful home, we wanted to bring elements of modern coastal decor into the space while maintaining its traditional Lowcountry vibe. Woven rugs, light walls, and nautical accents all play into the coastal aesthetic, while traditional furniture and artwork anchor the design. We kept the color palette mostly neutral with a handful of green accents including foliage, a beautiful four-post bed, and a magazine-worthy hanging porch swing!

For our forthcoming projects, we’ll be referencing a collection of inspirations that includes mossy oaks, oyster shells, and the bayside views that are so iconic in Palmetto Bluff and the surrounding areas. Stay tuned for many exciting reveals to come in 2020. We are beyond excited to begin transforming these luxury rental properties, and hope to see you soon at the Montage Palmetto Bluff!
