When Principal Designer Mikaelah Seifrit was contacted by this Palmetto Bluff client to work with builders Frontlight Building Company and complete the design for their new custom home, she jumped at the chance. This project had a tighter budget than most, and the clients wanted to incorporate some of their existing furnishings and sentimental items into the design. By carefully crafting the existing furnishings into the design with many new and fresh elements, the overall feeling of the home is casual, rich, and inviting.
The large-scale fireplace with brick is met at the ceiling by rustic wood beams that add a historic charm to the family room and pull in the color of the beautiful wood french doors. The foyer playfully introduces color on the vertical shiplap walls, while the family entry in the back gets interesting and practical with brick herringbone flooring. The stairwell wall is made interesting with judges panels painted white to keep the space open and clean. The oversized dining room chandelier makes a dramatic statement that can be seen from all angles on the main floor. Everyone's favorite moment in the home is the ceiling in the primary bedroom, with the combination cofer and stained wood treatment. The luxurious and colorful furnishings complete the design for these wonderful clients. We hope they enjoy their new family home for many years!
