Rustic Plantation House—Brays Island

before pictures

These Brays Island Plantation clients approached Principal Designer Mikaelah Seifrit in the middle of the global pandemic in 2020 and asked for help! They had purchased their beautiful rustic vacation retreat prior to the lockdowns, and were closing soon and needed their home furnished. We overcame so many restrictions and obstacles to make this happen for them, and very quickly also. The home gives a wink here and there to its coastal location through some of the colors and textures, but overall has a rustic quality that feels warm and inviting. We incorporated their personal taxidermy and family heirlooms, like grandpa's fishing poles mounted to the wall in the dining room, along with a gorgeous antler chandelier in the dining area. Leather upholstered furnishings, a grouping of organic wood slabs, hooks and pillows repeating the antler motif, and a dash of animal print rounded out our old-meets-new, coastal-meets-cabin approach to this project.
