Serene and bold
Palmetto Bluff

When our Atlanta based attorney client approached Principal Designer Mikaelah Seifrit, he asked for a Serena and Lily inspired coastal retreat. The home construction had already begun from builder Brightwater Homes in the Moreland district of Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton SC.

Working with most of the already-selected flooring and tile, Mikaelah was able to add custom trim carpentry in various places throughout the home, including the vertical shiplap down the hallway, the incredible detail on the master bedroom ceiling, and the dramatic judges panels on the entire stairway wall. Keeping all of this trim work white keeps the space light and airy, and lends to the coastal feeling of the space. Incorporating unique wallpaper in the foyer, casita kitchenette, and the powder room also add flair.

Featuring varying tones of blues woven throughout the home created a unified design, while giving each space a unique feel. Creative use of space in the upstairs gives room for extended family, with a pull-out sleeper sofa and a convertible ottoman bed, plus two daybeds in the adjoining bedroom. The casita became a mini-apartment with a seating area, kitchenette, television, and queen bed. The colorful yet serene color palette sets the tone for the home's water-adjacent location.
